Role - Senior Cloud Engineer

Location - Vancouver, BC
Duration - 18 months

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build and maintain a public cloud infrastructure and solutions to support the availability, orchestration, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud environments.
  • Actively work with cloud and application architects to build cloud infrastructure for customer-facing applications and services.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks and tools to ensure high speed & low-cost provisioning, maximum uptime, and predictability while preventing outages and service interruptions or degradations.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with peers in Cloud Engineering and the groups in McKesson Technology Organization to plan and implement resource plans effectively across the team.
  • Build scalable, highly performant infrastructure for delivering clear business insights from a variety of raw data sources.
  • Develop batch & real-time analytical solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept for selected solutions.
  • Build frameworks and tools to empower our data scientists and analysts.
  • Implement complex analytical projects with a focus on collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing data.
  • Be in constant communication with team members and other relevant parties and convey results efficiently and clearly.
  • Implementing & extending Dynamics CRM software & inspiring its use within the business environment, advising on best practises to ensure its features are utilised to their fullest.
  • Deep understanding of MS D365 CE capabilities and architecture and the ability to determine the best approach as to when to employ out of the box configurations vs. custom development.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience working as a Cloud Engineer
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • C#, .Net, SQL Server
  • 4+ yrs of experience in Cloud Platforms including Azure, AWS and GCP
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in an IT Infrastructure team in a Cloud, PaaS environment and supporting mission-critical services
  • Experience in cloud automation, configuration management, and deployment of enterprise-scale infrastructures as code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, and Python
  • Experience with one or more container platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of the security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications, including relevant data privacy and compliance requirements. Familiarity with principles of network, application, and information security
  • Understanding of software engineering, including DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, test automation, environment, configuration automation, etc
  • Excellent communication skills: organizational, written, verbal and product demonstration
  • Competitive knowledge of Salesforce, SAP, Oracle CRM, etc. is preferred
